Shara made this for Jacob's birthday a couple of weeks ago. It's deeeeeeeeeelicious, and guaranteed to add at least 2 pounds to your hips. Definitely a special occasion sort of a cake, but hey, every day is a special occasion, right?
1 pkg. devil’s food cake mix
1 (3.9 oz) pkg. instant chocolate pudding
1 c. sour cream
1 c. milk
½ c. vegetable oil
½ c. water
4 eggs
2 c. semisweet chocolate chips
6 T. butter
1 c. semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 10 inch bundt pan.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, sour cream, milk, oil, water and eggs. Beat for 4 minutes, then mix in 2 cups chocolate chips.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely.
To make the glaze: Melt the butter and 1 cup chocolate chips in microwave or double boiler. Stir until smooth and drizzle over cake.
