So last night Laura-Bear and I were in the mood for peanut-butter krispies. Unfortunately, this is Virtue Sister #2's specialty. Kimmy makes the most amazing pB krispies topped with milk chocolate on the planet. . .seriously. We've been making them since the beginning of time. . .well, since we were in 4-H foods circa 1987 ish. To avoid high caloric food disaster, we called the expert (Kimmy) for some assistance. . .she was not helpful. Next we called the holder of all family 4-H cookbooks (Mom). . .she was not helpful. Then, as if a culinary miracle, Eric calls his mom who rattles the recipe off from memory. And so, we ate happily ever after! Thanks LuVera. . .you're our new pB krispy princess.
To make your own caloric (but protein rich) krispies--here's the recipe!
1 cup light kara syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter
5-6 cups krispies
Bring syrup and sugar to a slow boil. Stir in peanut butter. Remove from heat and add Rice Krispies. Press the luscious mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 pan. We like to melt a whole bag of milk chocolate chips and cover the krispy mixture. Let cool in refrigerator.

I have this recipe also, with one little difference. Add about 1/4 cup butterscotch chips to the milk chocolate chips. It is yummy!!!
